Lorry fire closes A141 in Cambridgeshire

The A141 was closed for a time yesterday as fire crews fought a lorry blaze.

At 12.34pm on Thursday (29) crews from Huntingdon and Chatteris, along with the water carrier from Ramsey, were called to a fire on the A141 near Warboys.

Firefighters arrived to find a fire involving a lorry carrying hay bales.

“Wearing breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their stations by 4pm,” said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire fire and rescue.

“The cause of the fire was accidental”.
