A man charged with conspiracy to steal motor vehicles worth £600,000 has gone missing despite being subject to bail conditions that included wearing an electronic tag and surrendering his passport. Karolis Tauckela, 27, was arrested in Haslingfield, near Cambridge, in the early hours of 19 June by road policing officers.

He was later charged in connection with a series of keyless car thefts across Cambridgeshire and neighbouring counties.

“Tauckela was released on court bail and has since failed to attend hearings,” Cambridgeshire police said in a statement today.

They are appealing for people’s help to find him.
