A142 blocked near Chatteris on Christmas Eve by HGV
It took a few hours before police could confirm the road had re-opened
This was the HGV that blocked a main road through Cambridgeshire on Christmas Eve.
“Police are advising motorists to avoid the A142 Ireton’s Way between Mepal and Chatteris, because there is a large HGV currently blocking both lanes,” said a post to the Policing Fenland Facebook group.
“We have officers on the way to try and resolve the situation as soon as possible,” said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary spokesperson.
A CambsNews reader who took these photos believes the lorry had tried, unsuccessfully, to turn round in the entrance to the former Mepal outdoor centre.
