The family of a mother and daughter who died in a tragic collision on the A10 between Littleport and Ely have paid tribute to them. Josefina Gatdula, 71, and her daughter Jonifel Mae Gatdula, 25, both of Friars Way, Littleport, were killed when their Audi collided with an HGV fuel tanker.
The incident occurred at approximately 6.40pm on 12 February on a single carriageway road running parallel to Chettisham.
The HGV left the road and came to rest in a nearby field, while the Audi was pushed 100 metres further along the road.
The HGV driver, a 40-year-old man from Basildon, Essex, was checked by paramedics but was uninjured.
He has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been released on bail until 10 May pending further enquiries.

In a moving statement, Josefina’s husband and Jonifel Mae’s father, Felix Gatdula, said: “On February 12 I lost my wife, Josefina, and our daughter, Jonifel Mae – two people who were my whole world. Josefina was the heart of our home, full of strength, kindness, and unwavering love.
“ Jonifel Mae was our miracle, a bright and gentle soul who carried her mother’s warmth. Their absence has left a void that can never be filled, but the love they gave will stay with me forever.
“I am deeply grateful to our family, friends, and community for the support and compassion you have shown during this unimaginable time.
“ My thanks also go to the first responders who cared for them with such kindness. As we lay them to rest, I ask for privacy while we grieve. Josefina and Jonifel Mae will forever live in my heart.
“Until we meet again. I love you both.”
