A couple has become one of the first in Britain to switch on their CHRISTMAS lights which they hope will raise thousands for charity.
Helen and John Attlesey expect to attract THOUSANDS of visitors to their home in Soham, Cambs, after decorating it with more than TWO MILLION Christmas lights.

They have spent TWO MONTHS preparing the incredible display, which completely covers their chalet bungalow and corner gardens.
The pair have been lighting up their home since 2014 and each year they add extra decorations and lights, including a new life-size Santa by the front door this year.
The stunning display features nutcrackers, polar bears, bells, elves, candles, snowmen and reindeer figures in the gardens and the front wall is lit up with robin, star and rocking horse motifs.

“We start working on the display in September and spend time untangling all the lights and testing and replacing the bulbs,” said Helen.
“We also buy new pieces every year and re-arrange the lights to make the display different. The children love spotting everything and posting their donations in the red post box. We’ve been told that our light display is now a Christmas tradition.”
They started the display 11 years ago to raise money for three charities which had helped their grandson, Jacob, who has epilepsy.

They raise money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Dreamflight and over the past 10 years have made more than £50,000 for the three charities.
“We love seeing how happy it makes everyone,” she added.
The lights will be turned on every day until 10pm until the New Year.
