Five men have been charged in connection with a robbery at a village post office and shop in Eaton Socon after a video filmed by a member of the public circulated widely on social media.
Cambridgeshire Police said the incident took place at the Eaton Socon Post Office and Premier store on Great North Road at around 5.55pm on Sunday evening.

Footage shared on Facebook, which has been viewed more than 12,000 times, appears to show an onlooker filming the scene as several people leave the shop. In the video, the man can be heard shouting that the post office is being robbed and claiming items were being taken from the premises.

At one point, another passer-by can be heard shouting an insult, while the man filming tells one of the people leaving that he intends to follow them. The video ends shortly afterwards.

Police confirmed that vapes, cigarettes and alcohol were reported stolen during the incident.

Community shaken
Eaton Socon is a large village and district immediately south-west of St Neots, separated from the town by the River Great Ouse. It forms part of the wider St Neots urban area and is located close to the A1.

The post office and shop serve as an important local facility, and the incident has prompted concern among residents, particularly following the rapid spread of the video online.
