Firefighters tackle garage blaze in Peterborough

Fire crews from across Peterborough were called to tackle a garage fire on Fengate on Thursday morning (30 October).

Emergency services were called at 10.57am, with crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, Whittlesey, Peterborough Volunteer Brigade, and the north roaming fire engine attending the scene, along with the turntable ladder.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked hard to bring the blaze under control, using hose reels and the turntable ladder to extinguish the flames. Smoke was cleared from the building using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

According to Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, the cause of the fire was accidental.

No injuries were reported.
