A Police spokesperson has said today,
“A police investigation is ongoing into alleged misconduct in a public office at Peterborough City Council.
On Wednesday May 21 a woman in her 60s from Cambridgeshire was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in a public office and has been bailed until August 21.”
A former officer at Peterborough City Council has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
Group leaders of the Labour, Peterborough First, Conservatives, Lib Dems and Greens are expected to be notified on Friday and provided with more details.
CambsNews is only able to report at this stage that the allegations are serious and although known to us we are not able to disclose the identity of the suspect.
All we are able to report is that the alleged offender is a woman in her 60s who was arrested at her home.
Cambridgeshire police have been asked to confirm the arrest and to confirm the nature of the alleged offence.
