A desperate search is underway for a 64-year-old woman who vanished four days ago near a village pub in East Cambridgeshire. Carol Hillier, from Sandy in Bedfordshire, was last seen at about 11.20am on Sunday (15 February) near The Old Anchor, off Bury Lane in Sutton, near Ely.
Her silver Mercedes E Class estate was later found parked opposite the pub, prompting an urgent police response and a widening search operation.
Officers are now combing nearby waterways and surrounding green spaces close to where the car was discovered, raising growing concern for Carol’s welfare.

Carol, who is from Sandy in Bedfordshire, is described as white, 5ft 4in tall, of medium build, with mousy grey chin-length hair and grey-blue eyes. She wears glasses.
When she was last seen, she was wearing a dark plum-coloured Rohan coat, a pale blue beanie hat, dark walking trousers and carrying a small rucksack.
Detective Inspector Alice Draper said officers are determined to find her.
“I’m appealing to anyone who may have seen Carol on or since Sunday to get in touch with us so we can target our searches,” she said.
“We still hold out hope of finding Carol alive, but specialist officers are searching areas of water in the vicinity where her car was found.
“If anyone has seen her or has dashcam footage, it would really help us to narrow down our search area.”
Police are urging anyone who has seen Carol since Sunday — or who may have relevant footage — to report it using reference incident 233 of 15 February via the force website.
Anyone without internet access should call 101.
