This morning, Peterborough honoured its Armed Forces with a dignified flag-raising ceremony held in Cathedral Square. The event, though modest in scale, carried significant meaning as members of the City Council were joined by representatives from the Armed Services, Cambridgeshire Constabulary, and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Together, they raised the Armed Forces flag in a show of respect and gratitude for the dedication and sacrifice of service personnel past and present. The quiet gathering provided a poignant reminder of the city’s ongoing commitment to those who serve and protect—both at home and abroad.
While smaller than previous celebrations, the ceremony reflected Peterborough’s deep-rooted appreciation for the Armed Forces community and its valued partners in public service.
