Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a stabbing near Queensgate bus station in Peterborough.
Officers were called at 5.23pm on Thursday, January 8, following reports of violence in the area close to the bus station.
A teenage boy was found with stab wounds and was taken to Peterborough City Hospital for treatment. Police have confirmed his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
At the time of the incident, no arrests had been made and an investigation was launched. The bus station and a nearby underpass were closed while officers secured the scene and gathered evidence. An increased police presence was also put in place.
In an update released on Friday, January 9, police confirmed that a 17-year-old boy from Peterborough has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident. The arrest relates to an alleged assault on a 16-year-old boy.
The teenager remains in police custody while enquiries continue.
