Cambridgeshire Police this morning have confirm that a Peterborough Councillor was arrested in June.
In a statement Cambridgeshire police said “he was arrested on Monday (16 June) and has been bailed until 16 September.”
Cambridgeshire Police have confirmed the arrest of a 25-year-old man from Peterborough in connection with alleged sexual offences. The arrest took place on 28 May, and the individual has since been released on bail.

He is due to return on 27 August as part of the ongoing investigation.
In a statement from Cambridgeshire Police “A 25-year-old man from Peterborough was arrested on suspicion of sexual offences on 28 May. He has been released on bail to return on 27 August.”
Sources close to Peterborough city council have confirmed he is a City Councillor.
At this stage, police have not disclosed further details regarding the nature of the allegations.
The man’s identity has not been officially released, and no charges have been brought at this time, CambsNews is aware of the individual’s name.
