CambsNews is looking for the person to ‘crown’ Cambridgeshire Politician of the Year 2023. It has been, as usual, a topsy turvy year in Cambridgeshire and you do not have to travel far across the county to assess both winning councillors – and councils – and those simply waiting for the tide, and the mood of the electorate, to turn.

We already have received several suggestions (those pictured above) have all been nominated after the first appeal went out a couple of days ago on X, formerly Twitter, for nominations, and to assess readers’ appetites for nominating their 2023 choices.

Nominations are welcomed by all CambsNews readers and supporters – all we ask is when nominating give a line, maybe two, about why you consider your chosen politician to be worthy of the accolade.

If you fancy the chance to see your favourite political figure carry off the award, all please email me at john@cambsnews.co.uk or go to CambsNews Facebook page and use the messenger app.

Or if you follow me on X (formerly Twitter) or follow Cambs News simply use the DM facility to let us know your nominated politician or reply to our tweets about the award.

Please remember if you recommend someone, they can be a councillor at any level from parish upwards or may even be a political figure not currently holding public office but still active on the political scene.

Between Christmas and New Year, we will be sifting entries with the announcement of the winner scheduled for New Year’s Day.
