It has also applied for a licence to sell alcohol with its application notice to East Cambridgeshire District Council saying they hope for the licence to start on January 19th, 2024.
B&M Retail began in 1976 and now operates a chain of over 500 stores throughout England, Wales, and Scotland.
Nearest branches to Ely at the moment are Chatteris, Newmarket and Cambridge.
Wilko’s Ely branch was among the last of its 400 stores to close. It finally shut on October 8.
