A young Cambridgeshire producer is behind a film that has been viewed over 1.3 million times on YouTube in the first two weeks of its release. Harry Pauley’s Godmanchester company filmwithreko is behind the short film which is making waves with the production of Elliot’s Story, a short film starring YouTube and TikTok influencer Ezekielthe1st.

The ten-minute film was shot around Coventry and Rugby over four days and on a tiny budget: the film has been praised by young fans and seasoned media professionals.

One said: “I liked the film … it’s pacy, good music, sad story…well done.” And another said: “That was a very compelling watch, very professional and look forward to the next episodes.”

A third added: “Well scripted, well-acted and a great soundtrack too.”

The idea for the film came from Ezekiel, a rising star in the social media world, who is from the Midlands. This short film is the first in a series and planning is already underway for Part 2.

Ezekiel, who has 195 thousand followers on YouTube and 3.7 million followers on TikTok and is beyond happy with the response.

Elliot’s Story tells the tale of a young man, Elliot, who is mugged in the street for his phone. Elliot returns home and tells his older brother, and the short film ends as his brother grabs a kitchen knife.

The film stars Ezekiel in the lead role, as well as Harrison Ola, JTA and J2Hundred.

Harry said: “We had crowds of people out watching us film on the streets, at one stage a school bus went by and within minutes a big crowd of school kids had come back to get a glimpse of Ezekiel.”

He was the youngest ever – at just 15 – work experience intern at award- winning Working Title Films in London, the company behind Billy Elliott and Rush amongst other hit movies.

Upon leaving LSA Harry worked as a runner in London before deciding to set up his own company filmwithreko, with fellow student Luka Green. The pair use young talent to crew their projects wherever possible.

The media company has worked with the likes of Bidwells and King of Shaves as well as producing numerous podcasts and video clips for their wide and growing client list.

Harry is now busy working with Ezekiel on the second of four instalments of Elliot’s Story, which is due to drop in May.

He said: “It’s hard to get my head around what we’ve achieved with Elliot’s Story in such a short timeframe and with minimal crew and budget. We already have interest from BAFTA nominated individuals who are looking to collaborate on future projects, and we are actively seeking investment for Elliot’s Story Part 2.

“I am truly stunned by the amount of people who have watched our film already. I’d like to thank Luka, Matty Brewer, Rafal Bozejewicz, Reece Flook, Dillan Dattani, Fin Buttle and Scott J Hutchins who worked with me on this production”

Filmwithreko – “we are filmwithreko, a movement born from a desire to revolutionize UK film and media production. “We’re more than a production company; we’re your creative partners, your storytellers, and your catalyst for success”
