A lorry driver who overturned his vehicle on a busy Cambridgeshire road while drunk has been banned from driving after police discovered he was almost three times over the legal alcohol limit.
A 51-year-old man has been disqualified from driving after crashing his lorry while drunk and leaving it on its side on the A1307 at Girton.
Police were called to the collision on Thursday, 18 December, where they found a lorry that had overturned during the incident. The driver, Adam Ingrey, had been behind the wheel while heavily intoxicated.

Roadside breath tests revealed Ingrey blew 94 micrograms of alcohol — nearly three times the legal limit of 35.
Ingrey, of High Barns, Ely, was arrested at the scene and later pleaded guilty to drink driving at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 23 December.
The court disqualified him from driving for 20 months and ordered him to pay a £400 fine.
Police have reiterated their warning about the dangers of drink driving, stressing that such behaviour puts lives at risk and will be met with firm enforcement.
The force operates a dedicated, confidential hotline — 0800 032 0845 — available 24 hours a day for reporting suspected drink or drug drivers.

Information about drink driving laws and penalties is available on the force’s road safety webpages.
