Peterborough’s much-loved Christmas pantomime will return to the New Theatre for a second spectacular year, with tickets officially going on sale today (Friday 27 February).
Following a hugely successful and widely celebrated 2025 season, Landmark Theatres has confirmed that its flagship festive production will once again take place at the New Theatre — cementing the venue as the home of the city’s biggest seasonal tradition.
Cinderella to bring magic, laughter and festive sparkle
For Christmas 2026, audiences will be invited to “go to the ball” as Cinderella takes centre stage in a brand-new production promising magic, mischief and mayhem for audiences aged five to 105.
Produced by Landmark Theatres, the pantomime will feature an original script, new music and all the classic elements audiences expect — from audience participation and belly laughs to dazzling costumes and spectacular surprises.
The timeless fairy tale follows poor Cinderella, forced into a life of chores by her outrageous Stepsisters, while dreaming of a better future — and, of course, a magical night at the royal ball.
Returning to the stage is Peterborough favourite David Griffin Stevens, reprising his role as the Fairy Godmother, bringing his trademark humour and warmth back to festive audiences. Original music will be provided by composer Simon Hanson, adding fresh energy to the classic story.

Organisers say the production aims to build on last year’s success while allowing even more people to experience the region’s largest festive theatre event.
Tickets go on sale today
Tickets for Cinderella are available from today, with theatre officials encouraging early booking to secure the best seats.
Members will receive a 20% discount, while early bird audiences can save 15% when booking before 1 May.
Festive season expands across both theatres
Alongside the New Theatre pantomime, Landmark Theatres has announced a wider Christmas programme across its venues, including a major community collaboration at the Key Theatre.
The venue will host a special festive production created in partnership with Kindred Drama, offering opportunities for young and early-career performers from across the community to audition and perform on the main stage.
Lisa Collings and Paul Collings of Kindred Drama said the partnership represents a shared commitment to nurturing young talent and creating an inclusive festive programme.
“We can’t wait to create a heartfelt and imaginative Christmas season that celebrates young performers and brings even more people into our local theatres,” they said.
A magical first theatre experience for young audiences
The Key Theatre’s Studio Theatre will also stage a brand-new early-years production designed especially for children aged 0–5 and their families.
The interactive show follows an elf left behind on an adventure back to the North Pole, encouraging young audiences to take part in a relaxed and welcoming theatre environment.
Paul Jepson, CEO and Creative Director of Landmark Theatres, said the organisation remains committed to making theatre accessible for everyone.
“Christmas is about togetherness, joy and shared experiences and we’re delighted to bring that spirit to life across both venues this year,” he said.
Further announcements about the Key Theatre’s festive programme are expected in the coming months.
