A seven-vehicle pile-up has closed part of the A1307 at Swavesey in Cambridgeshire. “It is believed there are no serious injuries to any of the occupants of the vehicles,” said a spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police.
The westbound carriageway has been closed between Swavesey and Fenstanton and is likely to remain closed for several hours while recovery takes place, and the road is gritted.
Police say they were called at 6.55am today (Wednesday) with first reports of a collision involving seven vehicles on the westbound carriageway.
Reports of a separate three-vehicle collision on the eastbound carriageway came in just after 8am, however the road has now been cleared.
“Due to the weather conditions and icy road surfaces across the county, motorists are advised to take extra care and drive to the conditions,” said the spokesperson.
