Police sought him here; they sought him there until they found him having a haircut. And arrested him.

Larry Connors, 30, was put on a police force ‘most wanted’ list for burglaries across Cambridgeshire and other parts of the country.

He was eventually arrested in June last year while having his hair cut at a barber’s shop in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire.

Connors, 30, broke into a house in Aldford Road, Upton, Chester, on 2 February 2021 and stole cash and jewellery.

His DNA was later found by police on a window handle.

Then on 26 February 2021, he struck in Cambridgeshire at a house in Bentley Road, Cambridge. Nothing was stolen but, again, his DNA was found on a window handle.

Nine months later, in November 2021, Connors broke into a house in Harecourt Avenue, Sidcup, London, but stole nothing.

Once more he struggled to cover his tracks as his DNA was found on a glove mark on a window frame.

The final burglary of the spree took place in Shadwell Drive, Northolt, London, on 10 September 2022.

Connors broke in and stole cash and jewellery worth a total of more than £17,000. His DNA was found on a window.

Connors was also wanted on recall to prison after breaching a home detention curfew on a three-year sentence in relation to a large-scale conspiracy to commit burglaries across Britain.

He was eventually arrested in June last year while having his hair cut at a barber’s shop in Radcliffe on Trent, Nottinghamshire.

On Friday (5 April), at Cambridge Crown Court, Connors, of Gisborne Green, Derby, was jailed for four years and six months, having been found guilty of four counts of burglary.

DC Sarah Longbottom said: “Connors is a prolific burglar who has caused pain and misery for victims, not only in Cambridgeshire, but across the country.

“Burglary is a force priority, and we do everything we can to get the likes of Connors before the courts.

“I’m glad he is now behind bars because he has violated people’s privacy and their homes.”
