Fenland’s chief ‘tester’ gives verdict on £135,000 Wisbech park makeover

Peter Murphy is Fenland Council’s portfolio holder for parks and open spaces – and chief ‘tester’ of course.
Who better than Cllr Murphy then to sample the improved Wisbech Park play area after a £135,000 makeover.
After officially opening the play area, Cllr Murphy offered his verdict.
“This vibrant space promises boundless opportunities for kids to explore, learn, and thrive,” he said.
“With its inclusive design, every child, regardless of ability, will be able to enjoy Wisbech Park.”
The play area features junior equipment for ages 5-12 years, including a bespoke Anglo Saxon Wisbech Ship centrepiece, and toddler equipment for ages 2-6 years, including a tractor multi-unit.
Much of the older equipment in the play area has now been replaced with new equipment, while some of the previous pieces that were still in good condition have been retained, to ensure a wide variety of facilities for youngsters to enjoy.
