The Conservative candidate secured 28.4 percent of the vote. Turnout across the region was 33.1 percent and the count took place at Ross Peers Sports Centre in Soham.

Paul was the MP for Peterborough between 2019 and 2024 and grew up in Whittlesey, attending Sir Harry Smith Community College.
Born in York, he moved to Peterborough aged five, when his parents started working in the NHS. He lives in Wansford, near Peterborough, with his family.

The Mayor leads the Combined Authority, working with local councils, partners and Government to grow the economy, create jobs, help businesses, improve skills, support new housing and make local transport better.

The Combined Authority has £328m capital programme and £333m revenue budget over the Mayoral term period, 2025-2029, to deliver its priorities, including in transport, skills, business support and growth.
