Pizza Hut staff facing uncertainty after the chain’s administration now have a surprising new route: the bus driver’s seat. Stagecoach East, the region’s largest bus operator, is inviting affected employees to apply for a range of roles across driving, engineering, office support, and more.
With over 830 colleagues already on board in Bedford, Cambridge, Fenstanton, Haverhill, and Peterborough, Stagecoach promises a welcoming, supportive workplace.
Managing director Darren Roe said, “Hard-working, customer-focused people shouldn’t have to suffer through no fault of their own. We want to offer a fresh start—and a new career.”
Stagecoach highlights training, teamwork, and mental health support as core to its culture. “If you take pride in great service and getting the job done, you could fit right in,” Roe added. “We’ve got you.”
The operator is also committed to greener travel, with nearly 10% of its 8,400-vehicle fleet now electric and a pledge to support local communities through charitable donations.
Members of the team at Stagecoach: For the 1,210 Pizza Hut jobs at risk, Stagecoach believes it offers a solid alternative: a stable, supportive environment where customer service and dedication are rewarded.
