Jaspal Benning joined Amazon in 2011 in an entry-level packing role before moving through several positions at the Peterborough fulfilment centre and progressing into his current picking role.
Reflecting on his journey, Jaspal said the opportunities and support he received helped him grow in confidence over time.
He said: “When I first joined, I didn’t know what to expect but Amazon gave me the chance to grow and find my place.
“Over the years, I’ve built my confidence, learned new skills and found a role that really suits me. The support throughout my time at Amazon has made a great impact on my growth.”
Alongside his day-to-day work, Jaspal has helped organise cultural celebrations at the site, including Ramadan and Eid events aimed at bringing colleagues together and helping people learn more about different cultures.

He said: “Being part of the cultural events is really important to me.
“I enjoy bringing people together and seeing everyone get involved. When colleagues tell me they’ve enjoyed it or learned something new, that’s what makes it special.”
Jaspal has also supported community initiatives, including visits from local schools and students with special educational needs.
He said: “I like being able to support the students when they visit, especially when they’re from my old school.
“Seeing them here is really special for me and if I can help them feel more confident about their future or show them what’s possible, that’s something I’m really proud of.”
One of his favourite memories from his time at Amazon has been taking part in seasonal celebrations and site events.
“It’s always great to be part of those moments,” he said. “It brings a lot of energy to the site and puts a smile on people’s faces.”
Looking back on 15 years with the company, Jaspal said it is the people and sense of community that have mattered most.
“For me, it’s the people,” he said. “You come in, see your colleagues and feel part of a team.
“That’s what’s kept me here and made it such a positive experience. I’ve had a lot of support over the past 15 years and I’m really grateful for that. I’m looking forward to what I can do next within Amazon.”

Tomislav Batinic, site leader at Amazon in Peterborough, said: “Jaspal’s 15-year journey is a great example of the commitment and positive impact our employees bring to Amazon in Peterborough every day.
“Colleagues like Jaspal play an important role in creating an inclusive, supportive environment and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with him.”
Amazon’s Peterborough fulfilment centre opened in 2010 and employs thousands of people across the area, supporting deliveries across the East of England and beyond.
