The independent charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for the murder of Hamid “Mick” Tawaab in Huntingdon earlier this year.
Hamid, known affectionately by many locals as Mick, was 59 years old when he was found unresponsive in his flat on the evening of Monday 20 January 2025. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he sadly died a short time later.
A post-mortem examination confirmed that Mick had died as a result of blunt force trauma to his head, chest and abdomen, and police have since launched a murder investigation.
Appeal for witnesses and information
Detectives believe Mick was assaulted sometime between the morning of Sunday 19 January and the evening of Monday 20 January. During that time, several people are known to have visited his flat, which was covered by CCTV.
Officers are urging anyone who may have seen or heard anything, or who has any knowledge of what happened, to come forward — anonymously if necessary.
