Three men have been sentenced after carrying out a shocking and unprovoked attack on a Cambridge home. On 24 July, just after 3pm, Nathan Brown-Bonnett (46), Joel Farrow-Brown (27), and Liam Cafferkey (25) entered a property on Drayton Road armed with zombie knives and a kitchen knife.
The 45-year-old male resident was stabbed 17 times, suffering a slash from his forehead to his lip and a degloving injury to his right shoulder. He required multiple blood transfusions and plastic surgery.
A 41-year-old woman present at the property also sustained a minor cut to her stomach.
CCTV from nearby properties captured the attackers fleeing the scene, helping detectives to identify and apprehend them.
At Peterborough Crown Court on 25 March, the trio were sentenced after previously pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm with intent. Farrow-Brown also admitted to eight counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
- Nathan Brown-Bonnett: 8 years, 1 month
- Joel Farrow-Brown: 9 years
- Liam Cafferkey: 7 years, 2 months
Detective Constable Edward Mcauley, who led the investigation, said:
“This was a shocking and completely unprovoked attack that left a man with devastating injuries. The level of violence used was extreme, and there is absolutely no place for this kind of behaviour in our communities.
“Thanks to diligent investigative work, these three men have been brought to justice and will now spend a significant time behind bars. We hope this sentence provides reassurance to the public that we will relentlessly pursue those who carry knives and commit violent offences.”
