Arson attacks in Trumpington near Cambridge are being linked to the same culprit. Police have identified through CCTV images of the man they wished to speak to in connection with the series of fires.
It has since been revealed that Callum Campbell, 25, of St Matthews Gardens, Cambridge, has been charged with four counts of arson in relation to bin fires in Trumpington which took place on 17 and 26 February.
He appeared at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (1 March), where he was released on conditional court bail until his next hearing, scheduled to take place at Cambridge Crown Court on 31 March.
Firefighters were called to different fires in the village over the past two weeks, which they believe to be deliberate.
The most recent was in the early hours of 26 February, which involved two separate fires at bin stores in Cornwell Road and Addenbrookes Road.
Both bin sheds have flats above them and in Addenbrookes Road, the heat and size of the fire caused a window to crack and smoke to enter a property. The occupant was unharmed.
