Police want to quiz this man following bike theft in Wisbech

Luckily number of bike thefts in county is coming down

Police released a photo today of a man wanted in connection with the theft of a bike from Wisbech. “We want to speak to him in connection with the theft of a bike outside Tesco on Kirkgate Street, Wisbech on Friday, 12 April,” said a post to Policing Fenland Facebook page.

“If you know him, or have any information, please contact us online or if you do not have internet access, call 101 quoting crime reference 35/25766/24: https://orlo.uk/zOLGd “.

Across Cambridgeshire police have seen success in tackling bike theft with numbers dropping by 20 per cent in 2022/23.

Data from the Home Office shows the number of bike thefts or unauthorised taking of a pedal cycle reported to police dropped from 2,859 in 2021/22 to 2,301 in 2022/23.

The total of 2,301 in 2022/23 is the lowest number reported since 2012/13 when data was first compiled.
