Massive police raid in Ramsey Heights uncovers stolen vehicles, guns, and cannabis factories

At least 20 vehicles reportedly involved as Huntingdonshire officers crack down on organised crime

Unconfirmed reports from an eyewitness suggest that at least 20 vehicles were involved in a major police raid in Ramsey Heights yesterday (9 February), as officers targeted organised criminal activity linked to cannabis production and metal theft.

Police from the Huntingdon Neighbourhood Team and Rural Crime Action Team, working alongside Ministry of Defence (MOD) Police, executed a series of warrants at locations on Middle Drove and Ugg Mere Court Road.

The operation yielded a large cache of suspected stolen property, including:

  • An Audi and BMW suspected to be stolen
  • A JCB reportedly used in criminal activity
  • Firearm and ammunition
  • Stolen tools, plant machinery, and a skip
  • Car key cloning device
  • Copper cabling and stripping equipment
  • Multiple stolen number plates
  • Two metal stags suspected to be stolen

Officers also discovered nine cannabis factories across the addresses, with cannabis estimated to have a street value of £600,000.

Three men from Ramsey were arrested:

  • A 54-year-old on suspicion of burglary and possession of an offensive weapon (bailed until 8 May)
  • A 26-year-old on suspicion of cannabis production and intent to supply (remains in custody)
  • A 73-year-old on suspicion of handling stolen goods, concealing criminal property, drug offences, and possession of firearms (remains in custody)

Neighbourhood Inspector Colin Norden said: “This operation is another clear example of our commitment to disrupting drug networks, tackling organised criminal activity and safeguarding the wider community. We will continue to act on intelligence and strike at any moment to protect our communities.
