Forensic experts are at a house in Peterborough today after a man was arrested earlier and charged with the murder of a 67-year-old woman. Large amounts of paperwork is being bundled into folders and removed by a team of Police Scientific Support Officers who have been called to a house in Lingwood Park, Longthorpe, Peterborough.

Outside the property police have sealed off the front garden and pathway where a white car remains.

Police community support officers are also at the scene to ensure the house and site is not accessed by anyone other than police and forensic experts.

Gregory Coulson, 30, of Lingwood Park, Peterborough, has been charged with murder and was due to appear at Huntingdon magistrates court today Monday).

Police were called with reports of violence at a property in Lingwood Park, Longthorpe, at about 2.45am. The 67-year-old woman from Peterborough was discovered at the property and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We believe this is an isolated incident,” said a Cambridgeshire police spokesperson.

“We are not able to name the victim at this stage as formal identification has not yet taken place.”

A date has not been confirmed for a post mortem to take place.

Police say further updates concerning this, and the naming of the victim, will be released in due course.
